Certification status
An entity’s certification status shows whether they are meeting their obligations under the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard for their certification type. This status is listed on a brand’s profile page under Certified Brands.
Active
An active status means that an entity is currently certified, and meeting the requirements of the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard for their relevant certification.
Pending
A pending status means that an entity has outstanding obligations to meet the certification requirements.
If any of the points below apply, the organisation’s status will be shown as ‘pending’:
- the member has not submitted their reporting documents, and a formal compliance notice has been issued
- the member has an unpaid invoice
- the licence agreement has expired, and the member has not yet re-signed or told Climate Active they are withdrawing.
We work proactively with non-compliant members to support voluntary action to return to compliance. This includes allowing reasonable time and opportunity for entities to rectify the non-compliant activity. Most members respond constructively and go on to meet the requirements of the program. To learn more about our compliance policies, head to our Compliance page.
Withdrawn
A withdrawn status means the entity has voluntarily left the Climate Active program.
Withdrawn Climate Active entities are required to meet their obligations for the period they were certified, including providing final reporting.
Entities looking to withdraw from the Climate Active program are required to provide no less than 30 business days’ notice to Climate Active.
Terminated
A terminated status means the entity has not met the certification requirements and has failed to comply with the licence agreement. Climate Active has cancelled the licence agreement after giving the entity several opportunities to address the non-compliance.
