Type of certification
How long have you been certified carbon neutral?
Since 1 January 2018.
Why are you carbon neutral?
Future Recycling believes the environment must be preserved for future generations and is committed to leading the way. As such we are currently the only waste company to have a carbon neutral certification.
What are the benefits of your carbon neutral certification?
Enhanced corporate social responsibility enabling us to align our values with our clients. Maximising diversion from landfill, increasing our energy efficiency and minimising greenhouse gas production all of which improve environmental outcomes.
What offset projects do you support?
We support offset projects which focus on renewable energy and revegetation.
Why did you choose these projects?
These projects focus on the reduction of emissions and the preservation of life-giving rainforests which are critical factors to the global preservation of our fragile environment.
How can the community support you?
By recycling metal with us in Dandenong South, Hallam or Shepparton or taking waste to our Pakenham Transfer station. We also offer a bin and collection service for businesses.
What else are you doing to reduce emissions?
We monitor our water and energy consumption to minimise use in all operations. We maximise resources recovery opportunities through the recycling of materials which minimises waste.
We have also introduced energy efficiency measures to minimise greenhouse gas production. The use of fuels contributes greatly to our carbon emissions, we are working to run our trucks more efficiently to decrease this emission source.
What has been the impact of your action?
We have offset our energy consumption and maximised our diversion from landfill with a view to continually improve on these achievements.
What advice would you give to a business considering certification?
Climate Active certification is a worthwhile step towards doing your part for the environment. It brings colleagues and clients together in a positive effort to do something good for the environment and, in turn, society.
