Type of certification
Organisation and Product.
How long have you been certified carbon neutral?
Since March 2019.
Why are you carbon neutral?
Viticulture and winemaking are inherently linked to the climate. It is important to us and to our customers that our operations and products don't contribute to the issue of climate change.
What are the benefits of your carbon neutral certification?
We've had great engagement with our customers who have relished the opportunity to drink wine that is good for the planet. We have simultaneously reduced costs through investing in efficiencies that save money and emissions.
What offset projects do you support?
We support the replanting of forest in the Amazon basin, as well as solar projects in developing countries.
Why did you choose these projects?
Given the devastating fires in the Amazon throughout 2019, we thought that this was a great project to contribute.
How can the community support you?
The community can support us by enjoying a glass of carbon-neutral wine, it's that simple!
What else are you doing to reduce emissions?
We have constructed our own solar power array for the business, eliminated polluting fertilizers from the vineyard and moved to lighter-weight glass for bottling the wines.
What has been the impact of your action?
The solar array alone has reduced our carbon footprint by 15-20%.
What advice would you give to a business considering certification?
The Climate Active certification is backed by the Australian Government, and this gives our customers certainty that the certification is meaningful.
