“Seeking carbon neutral certification through the Climate Active program is the first in several steps we are taking to better understand and address our climate impact. ”

Type of certification

Organisation.

How long have you been certified carbon neutral?

Since December 2021.

Why did you choose to go carbon neutral?

Swyftx is highly aware of the climate challenges facing not only our industry but the broader community. As an organisation, we strive to have a positive and lasting impact for future generations to come. In order to achieve this, we recognise that sustainability must be an integral aspect of how we do business and seeking carbon neutral certification through the Climate Active program is the first in several steps we are taking to better understand and address our climate impact.

What are the anticipated benefits of your carbon neutral certification?

Our carbon neutral certification enables us to set a new industry standard and better monitor our emissions output, ensuring our continued progress and overall contribution to a low carbon economy.

What offset project do you support?

A savanna burning project in the Northern Territory, Australia.

Why did you choose this project?

As a proud Australian owned and operated business, it was important to us that we supported a local project. The Karlantijpa Burning Project not only supports the local Indigenous community in the Northern Territory but utilises traditional methods to reduce the amount of carbon released through bushfires every year. Reduction is ultimately the long-term goal of Swyftx’s carbon ambitions.

What else are you doing to reduce emissions?

Swyftx is in the process of implementing internal policies that clearly define our approach to greenhouse gas emissions and reducing our footprint in key consumption areas. Additionally, we continue to undertake a broad range of activities focused on reducing our GHG emissions, such as maintaining an internal recycling and waste disposal program, frequently decommissioning redundant software and equipment, and overseeing an internal “Charity Crew” initiative.
