Type of certification
Organisation. Adamantem Capital and Melior Investment Management (affiliate) is certified for its business operations.
How long have you been certified carbon neutral?
Since January 2020.
Why are you carbon neutral?
As part of our approach to responsible investment, we are committed to taking positive action to reduce our impact on the environment.
What are the benefits of your carbon neutral certification?
Through our certification we hope to encourage others in our sector, companies in our portfolios, as well as our staff and other stakeholders, to take steps to minimise their impact on the environment as well.
What offset projects do you support?
Australian native revegetation and savanna burning.
Why did you choose these projects?
In line with our broader commitment to responsible investing we have sought to incorporate the generation of co-benefits beyond reducing carbon in our offset purchasing strategy. The credits we have purchased directly support Australian-based projects which align with the creation of additional benefits for indigenous populations, forest regeneration, biodiversity creation and eco system support.
What else are you doing to reduce emissions?
We have taken a number of steps, including staff training on carbon neutrality, changing our business practices to make our operations more sustainable and implementing changes to reduce energy, water usage and waste. We also engage with our portfolio companies to measure their carbon footprints.
What advice would you give to a business considering certification?
That it is a very useful process to drive focus on improving sustainable business practices and an important step in encouraging the broader adoption of environmental initiatives within corporate Australia.
