The next 30 years will see massive energy investment as the world shifts from the fuels of the 20th century, to meet the renewable energy needs of the 21st, and safeguard the children of the 22nd. Jord is pioneering new technologies required for this transition and improving our existing technologies to minimise their impact.
Our role is threefold:
– design and construct process plant for traditional resource and energy sectors essential to power the transition;
– focus on technology innovations that deliver critical minerals and power new energy solutions in an efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable manner; and
– ensure our aftermarket solutions allow existing process plant to run more efficiently, thereby lowering emissions and extending plant life.

“We chose to go carbon neutral to demonstrate our commitment to being a responsible corporation.”
Type of certification
How long have you been certified carbon neutral?
Since May 2022.
Why did you choose to go carbon neutral?
We chose to go carbon neutral to demonstrate our commitment to being a responsible corporation. We wanted to walk the walk. We chose action over words.
Through carbon neutral certification, we are focusing on minimising our carbon emissions and offsetting unavoidable emissions to leave a more positive impact on the world.
What are the anticipated benefits of your carbon neutral certification?
The single biggest benefit is to the planet, not to our company. We are not a carbon neutral company for commercial benefits. It is just the right thing to do.
We are also proud to support recognised offset projects that align with our values and contribute to our goal of fostering a biologically diverse and sustainable planet.
What offset projects do you support?
A biodiversity reserve project in Indonesia and a forestry project in Papua New Guinea.
Why did you choose these projects?
We are supporting two strong international programs focused on rainforest protection and biodiversity. These projects best align with the charter of our Jord Environment Trust Foundation, which is to help foster a biologically diverse and sustainable planet.
How can consumers support you?
We value vendors and suppliers who are environmentally responsible. Our vendors will be involved in our process of tracking carbon emissions, and we prefer to work with other companies who are carbon neutral or trying to reduce their impact on the environment.
What else are you doing to reduce emissions?
Jord is developing new technologies that are enabling the energy and resources industries to reduce energy and water consumption. For example, early results indicate our new flotation technology called NovaCell could unlock a 40 percent reduction in comminution energy for the minerals processing industry.
We are also long-term supporters of Bush Heritage, Australia and Conservation International’s ocean protection activities in South East Asia.
Through everyday business operations, we are minimising carbon emissions by encouraging staff to reduce road and air travel, avoid plastic packaging and choosing products that are biodegradable. We’re implementing paperless practices and reducing printing whenever possible. We’re reducing waste and increasing recycling. And switching to energy-saving lighting in all offices.
What advice would you give to a business considering certification?
Get on board! The corporate world has a critical role to play. Ensure your company stays on the right side of history. Moreover, your staff will appreciate and be energised by your decision to show leadership in joining this initiative.
